This fungus shows a perculiar combination of strongly greenish yellow gills and a lilac cap margin, due to a bluish colouration of the context beneath the cap cuticle. This colouration is seen as a blue line on cut fruitbodies.

This photos was taken in very moist weather, so the lilac colours are not very pronounced.

The spores of this species are fairly small, and along with the colour combination this makes it quite easy to recognize.
