Cortinarius quercilicis (Chev. & Hry.) Hry.
[HOME]
dk[x]

A robust species resembling C. elegantior but differing in the alcaline reaction in the bulb (C. elegantior positive, C. quercilis negative).

C. quercilicis shows initially olivaceous yellow-green colours which soon oxidates to +/- copper-brown.

It is very rare in northern Europe, found only in a handfull of localities. It is more frequent and often quite abundant in evergreen Oak forest in the mediterranean area.
