This species has almost round spores, and seems to be close to C. caesiocortinatus.

It is easily distinguished from the former, by its violaceus lammelae and stipe, olivaceus green cap, often with violaceus veil remnants at the margin.

So for we have only seen this species on the swedish island, Öland, growing in association with Hazel (Corylus).
