[HOME]
dk[x]

A species associated exclusively with Birch (Betula ssp.). It has a pale violet cap colour when yong, with age it gets café-au-lait coloured. The stipe and the gills get distinctly violet when bruised or handled, like the closely related, but larger and brownish C. purpurascens.
