This species is one of the more common species of frondose forests.

It is characterized by the smell of uncooked corn (Zea mays) and/or spearmint. The capcuticle is grainy and the stem has yellowish zones from the veil. It grows maily with beech (Fagus).

This photo - taken in dry weather - shows specimens with bronzed colours.
