A yellow species without bulb is assocated fir (Abies) and deciduous
trees. With age the cap becomes reddish brown from the center. It
has a peculiar smell like unripe bananas - like that of C. mussivus
when this is young.
C. mussivus is smaller and more slender
and is associated with coniferous trees.
A variety with a marginated bulb is called C.
nanceiensis var. bulbopodius.
