This often relatively small species has greyish blue colours when young, but soon becomes orange brown. It often has abundand velar remains on the cap -and sometimes volva-like remains at the bulb margin as well.

First of all it reminds of C. glaucopus, which has smaller ellipsoid spores. The resembling C. dionysae has a mealy smell.
