This greenish species differs from most other plegmaciums by having
a peculiar strong taste of flour (or "bakery").
By appearance it might be confused with C.
humeolens or C. sulfurinus
var. fageticola.
It forms mycorrhiza with several species of deciduous trees, but in Denmark,
where it is very rare, it has only been found in association with beech
(Fagus).
