A pale greenish species with quite large spores. It might be confused
with C. flavovirens or
C. humeolens. C. sulfurinus
var. fageticola differs from both by its greenish tinges in the flesh,
and a blood red alcaline reaction on the basal mycelium.
This photo shows the first record outside Sweden, where the type locality
is.
The main variety - C. sulfurinus
- grows with coniferous trees.
