These specimens looks a lot like C. anserinus - only it lacks the blue tinges, the bitter taste and the characteristic smell. Furthermore it is paler.

It also reminds of C. saporatus, which is bigger, darker, and usually a lot of velar patches on the cap.

Like on the two above mentioned species the cortina of these specimens is very abundant.

It is very similar to the illustration of C. aleuriosmus var. aphanosmus in Moser & Jülich, which might be the right name for this taxon.

The name Cortinarius rapaceous Fr. is often used for pale phlegmacium in central Europe, but this name is very hard to interpret, and should perhaps be regarded as a nomen confusum.
