The appearance of this fungi varies a lot. This photo shows brownish specimens, but greyish violet specimens are also seen. Future studies may reveal whether all this variation should be treated as one species.


C. camptoros is related to C. glaucopus, but it has larger, citriform spores, and the cap lacks the fibrillose structure, that is caracteristic for the latter.

C. viridecaerulesus are very much alike but more greenish at least at the pileus margin.
