Cortinarius alcalinophilus R. Henry

Syn: C. majusculus Kühner Misapplied name: C. fulmineus Fr. ss. Christensen in Moser. 

Occasional. Seems to be the most frequent species of section Fulvi in Denmark.

Cortinarius anserinus (Velen.) R. Henry

Syn: C. amoenolens Henry ex. P.D. Orton

Not uncommon. The most frequent species of the Subgenus in Denmark. 

Cortinarius arcuatorum R. Henry

Syn: C. fulvoochrascens Henry 

Very rare. Recorded from the Trelde forests only.

Cortinarius argutus Fries

Very rare. Only 1 record from southern Langeland. Associated with Poppulus sp.

Cortinarius balteatoalbus R. Henry 

Syn: C. concrescens Bidaud, Moénne-Locc. & Reumaux, C. crassorum Henry

Very rare. Recorded from Emborg vestermark in eastern Jutland only.

Cortinarius balteatocumatilis R. Henry ex. P.D. Orton

Syn: C. violaceocinctus P.D. Orton 

Rare. But localy common north of Copenhagen

Cortinarius balteatus (Fr.) Fries

Syn: C. subbalteatus Kühner, C. eubalteatus Henry

Very rare. Only 1 record from Almindingen at Bornholm. 

Cortinarius (Leucocortinarius) bulbiger (Alb. & Schw.) J.E. Lange

Extremely rare. Only 1 record within the last 35 years. 

Cortinarius caesiocortinatus J. Schäffer

Rare. Recorded from the most Phlegmacium rich areas of Denmark

Cortinarius caesiogriseus J. Schaeff.

Rare. But probably overlooked. Several reports from 2001

Cortinarius caesiostramineus R. Henry 

Syn: C. amarescens Moser 

Very rare. Recorded from the Trelde forests ,Tisvilde hegn at northern Sealand and one locality on eastern Funen.

Cortinarius calochrous (Pers.: Fr.) Fries

Occasional. Occurs outside the typical localities from time to time. But our interpretation of C. calochrous probably covers more taxa

Cortinarius calochrous var. carolii (Velen.) Nezd.

Syn: C subarquatus Moser ?

Rare. Records of C. subarquatus might belong here, as the diagnosis for the two taxons is very similar, with overlap in Machrocharacters as well as Micro.

Cortinarius calochrous var. parvus (R. Henry) Brandrud ss Brandrud et. al (1990-1998)

Very rare. Only a few records.

Very rare. Only known from very few localities

Cortinarius cedretorum R. Maire

Very rare. Recorded from the Århus forests, where it is seen every year, Møns Klinteskov and few other places on Sealand.

Syn: C. pseudosulphureus Henry ex. P.D. Orton, C. citrinovirens Henry 

Uncommon. Occurs outside the typical localities from time to time

Cortinarius coeruleoochrascens Chev. & Hry. ss. Mos. & Jülich

Very rare. Recorded from the Århus forests and Møns klinteskov. This species have come to our knowledge recently, and might have been confused with C. sodagnitus or C. arcuatorum.

Syn: C. caesiocyaneus Britz.

Occasional.

Cortinarius caerulescentium R. Henry 

Probably very rareOccasional. Records of C. boudieri Henry, and maybe also C. rapaceous Fr., might belong here.

Cortinarius elegantissimus R. Henry

Syn: C. aurantio-turbinatus ( Secr.) J.E. Lange 

Rare. In western Denmark ( Jutland and Funen) only recorded from the Århus forests. More frequent at Sealand.

Cortinarius flavovirens R. Henry

Very rare. Only recorded from the Trelde forests. 

Cortinarius glaucopus (SchSff.: Fr.) S.F. Gray

Very rare. 3-4 records.

Cortinarius humeolens Brandrud

Misapplied name: C. claroflavus R. henry ss. Moser

Very rare. Recorded from the Århus forests and Marielund by Kolding only.

Cortinarius infractus (Pers.: Fr.) Fries 

Not uncommon.

Cortinarius langei R. Henry ss. auct.

Uncommon. It is possible that we include more than one species in this name.

Cortinarius largus Fries 

Misapplied name: C. nemorensis (Fr.) J.E. Lange 

Occasional. The name C. nemorensis Fr. has been commonly used in Denmark for this species, probably due to J.E. Langes interpretation of it.

Cortinarius leucophanes P. Karst.

Very rare. Recorded from Emborg vestermark in eastern Jutland only.

Cortinarius maculosus (Per.: Fr.) Fr.

Syn: C. squameo-radicans Bellivier ex Cheype

Very rare. Only known from a few localities ineropa. One record from Kasmose Skov in Denmark

Cortinarius multiformis (Fr.) Fries 

Misapplied name: C. allutus Fr. ss auct. Syn: C. lundelii Moser 

Rare. The most frequent Phlegmacium species associated with conifers in Denmark.

Cortinarius odoratus Moser

Syn: C. joguetii Melot 

Very rare. Recorded from Vosnæs north of Århus, Elbæk forest by Horsens Fjord and the Trelde forests.

Cortinarius olearioides R. Henry

Syn: C. subfulgens P.D. Orton 

Rare. It is quite difficult to distinguish this species from C. alcalinophilus.

Cortinarius olidus J.E. Lange

Syn: C. cephalixus Fr. ?

Occasional. Older danish records of C. sebaceous Fr. probably belongs here. (C. sebaceous Fr. ss Moser is now regarded a synonym of C. turmalis Fr.)

Cortinarius osmophorus P.D. Orton 

Syn: C. evosmus Joachim apud Henry 

Rare. Recorded from 5 localities. Often numerous at Buderupholm.

Cortinarius polymorphus R. Henry 

Very rare. Only known from Møns klint, Stagsrode, Allindelille and Kasmose skov.. Might have been confused with other species in the C. langei complex.

Cortinarius porphyropus (Alb. & Schw.) Fries

Uncommon. Associated with Birch (Betula) on oligotrophic soils. 

Cortinarius purpurascens (Fr.) Fries 

Rare, due to its association with conifers.

Cortinarius purpurascens var. largusoides R. Henry 

Uncommon. Occours outside the typical localities.

Cortinarius rapaceous Fries (??)

Very rare? This name is difficult to interpret, and our interpretation represent another species than that of Central Europe.

Cortinarius rickenianus R. Maire 

Very rare. Recorded from 4 localities. Some confusion with the species around C. calochrous is possible because the lilac universal veil often discolours to creamwhite very fast.

Cortinarius rufoolivaceus (Pers.: Fr.) Fries 

Uncommon. Recorded at seven localities or so.

Cortinarius saporatus Britzlmeyr

Syn: C. subturbinatus Henry, C. sulphurinus Quél. ss Lange ?

Very rare. Recorded from Vosnæs north of Århus, Møns Klinteskov and Middle sealand. It is possible that it has been confused with species in the C. langei Complex.

Rare, due to its association with conifers.

Cortinarius sodagnitus R. Henry

Very rare. Recorded from 3-4 of the best localities only.

Cortinarius splendens R. Henry

Syn: C. lamprocreas Chevassut & Henry

Rare, but overrecorded due to confusion with C. alcalinophilus and possibly also C. citrinus.

Cortinarius suaveolens Bat ex. Joachim

Very rare. Only a few records.

Cortinarius subporphyropus Pilát

Very rare. Recorded from Skanderborg dyrehave in eastern Jutland, Båstelund krat in southwestern Jutland and Oleskobbel on als, Southeastern Jutland. We assume that it is associated with Oak (Quercus) on oligotrophic soils.

Cortinarius subtortus (Pers.: Fr.) Fries 

Rare. Most Danish records has been in association with Beech (Fagus) on oligotrophic soils. 

Cortinarius sulfurinus var. fageticola Brandrud

Very rare. Only 1 record from Marielund by Kolding.

Cortinarius talus Fries

Misapplied name: C. multiformis Fr. ss auct. Syn: C. ochropallidus Henry, C. melliolens P.D. Orton ?

Uncommon. Occours outside the typical localities.

Cortinarius terpsichores Melot

Very rare. Recorded from the Århus forests and the Trelde forests only. 

Cortinarius triumphans Fries 

Syn: C. crocolitus Quélet 

Rare. Associated with Birch (Betua).

Cortinarius variecolor (Pers.:Fr.) Fries 

Syn: C. nemorensis (Pers.: Fr.) Fr. ss Henry, Moser

Very rare. recorded from few localities on Sealand and Møn.

Cortinarius vulpinus Velen. 

Syn: C. rufoalbus Kühner 

Rare.

Cortinarius xanthochlorus R. Hry

Extremely rare. Only known from Elbæk skov.
